Platters

The platter form made by Jacob evolved into more than a simple utilitarian piece.  While the platters are functional cooking and serving ware, the trend over the last twenty or so years was to use this form as a venue for artistic statement.
​ Carving and glaze-on-glaze decorative techniques seem to fit the canvas-like possibility of the platter, especially at a larger scale
